Center for Clinical Research

The Center for Clinical Research (CCR) is a centralized resource to facilitate research efforts of the Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS) and to provide oversight of human subject research and some facets of non-human/translational research.

This human subject research infrastructure provides the following services:

  • Development and coordination of the human subject research education program in research methodology.
  • A central IND/IDE office to supervise study conduct and administration and carry out risk assessments.
  • A central Quality Assurance office to educate and assist Institutes in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance and proactively monitor studies.
  • Improve financial solvency of research studies, by assisting with budgeting and protocol section on Institute level and budgeting of indirect charges on Institutional level.

The anticipated benefits of this centralized infrastructure include:

  • Coordinated effort to manage entire research continuum (from bench to bedside).
  • Central resources available for departments in need of support.
  • Improved research training, compliance, budgeting and quality assurance.
  • Executive Board of representatives from Institutes to help set the strategic directions for clinical research and best methods of allocating limited resources.
