Lerner Research Institute Awards for Excellence

The Lerner Research Institute will host the second annual Awards for Excellence Ceremony on Thursday, June 9th. Dr. Peter Chumakov will receive an Outstanding Science Award for his work in Cancer research (Budanov A, et al, Science. 304: 596-600, 2004). Dr. Riqiang Yan will receive an Outstanding Science Award for his work in Alzheimer's research (Wanxia H, et al, Nature Medicine. 10:959-965, 2004). Dr. Paul A. Murray will receive an Outstanding Service Award for ten years of service as Chairman of the IACUC.

A new award for excellence in education has been added this year. For their work at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Donna M. Driscoll, Ph.D., and Peter Heeger, M.D. received the CCLCM-CWRU Outstanding Educator Award.

Presentations will begin at 4:00 pm in NE1-205 (Center for Genomics Research building) and a reception will follow at 5:30 pm.
