Research Informatics also supports the Clinical Research Unit at the Cleveland Clinic for the Cleveland Clinical and Translational Science Award.
With a staff of 13 experienced programmers and analysts, we develop databases and other research tools in Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX, Oracle Clinical and Microsoft .NET platforms.
We also develop and host databases for disease and treatment registries. See this article on the use of EMR data for research. Through a project called Optimizing Healthcare Decisions, we make EMR data routinely available for research.
Our dedicated research data center hosts 52 physical servers, over 10 TB of SAN storage and 30 virtual servers. Platforms include: Oracle, Microsoft SQL and .NET, MySQL and Sun.
We are members of the REDCap Consortium (Research Electronic Data Capture).
Research Informatics hosts monthly meetings of Medical Informatics Grand Rounds for the Cleveland area.
We provide programming support for several multicenter studies.
