The unofficial Wump nomenclature

A wump is a fictitious creature with one or more humps created by Dr. Seuss, a writer of humorous verse for children and adults. In this nomenclature system, each thrombospondin repeats/modules is a hump. Therefore depending on the number of TS modules, members of this family can be classified as one hump wumps (ADAMTS-4), two hump wumps (ADAMTS-5-8), three hump wumps (ADAMTS-1, -15), four hump wumps (ADAMTS-2-3, -14), five hump wumps (ADAMTS-10), fifteen hump wumps (ADAMTS-9B) and eighteen hump wumps (GON-1). Additional levels of humpage may be generated by alternative splicing of these wumps. New levels of wumpage may be introduced by cloning and discovery of new genes in this family.

From: "One Fish, Two Fish" by Dr. Seuss. Remember: "Humpage equals wumpage"
