Biomechanics

The biomechanics program includes researchers with an interest in the mechanics of tissues, joints, and human movement.  Basic research in these areas is conducted in state of the art facilities, including laboratories for human movement analysis, mechanical testing, and computational modeling. The research is applied to clinical problems such as foot ulceration in diabetes, bone loss during spaceflight, mechanisms of sport injury, and technology development for innovative rehabilitation.
