Biomedical Devices

Biomedical Devices represents a diverse group of individuals working on technology deveioped in-house or on externally developed devices that must meet requirements for preclinical testing or initial clinical trials to obtain FDA approval. Several of the researchers represented have joint appointments in clinical departments and so provide practical clinical input to the programs. Cardiac support programs cover the range of use from temporary to permanent support, pediatric to adult support, with continuous flow to pulsatile flow. Other programs are active in testing new vascular stents, clinical invasive monitoring and renal support.
