The orthopaedic biology and bioengineering program conducts both fundamental and translational research of relevance to musculoskeletal disorders.  This multidisciplninary group includes biologists specializing in molecular biology, proteoglycan chemistry, cell biology and genetics, engineers with expertise in biomechanics, material testing, robotics and mathematical modeling and orthopaedic surgeon-scientists. The major areas of investigation include tissue regeneration and repair, tissue engineering, connective tissue bichemistry and developmental biology.
