Seminars

The following regular seminar series are organized by our department:

Cell Biology Seminars

Fridays at 10 am in NC1-202.

All speakers are invited guests from outside the department. The majority are out-of-town scientists while the remainder are from research institutions in Cleveland and the Northeastern Ohio area. Guest speakers spend one full day at the department meeting with faculty, fellows and students. Two of the speakers per year are chosen by the fellows and graduate students and stay for 1 1/2 - 2 days as a Visiting Professor.

Cell Biology Internal Seminars

Tuesdays at 4 pm in NC1-202.

In this seminar series, the department's junior faculty and more senior postdocs present their work in a formal setting. One goal of this seminar series is to give the postdocs an opportunity to practice for upcoming job talks in academia or industry. After the seminar, the faculty provides feed-back to the speaker, discusses plusses and minuses and makes suggestions how the presentation can be improved.
