Application Directions
Welcome to the application process for the Molecular Medicine Ph.D. Program. Please follow these directions carefully. All application materials and references must be received by January 15. Please have official transcripts mailed to Dr. Marcia Jarrett, Research Education Office, Lerner Research Institute ND46, Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195. This information can also be found in the on-line application.
GRE and TOEFL Requirements and Reporting Information:
All student applicants are required to take the General GRE Test. Subject tests in science are not required but recommended. All foreign student applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL exam. All official standardized test scores must be the most recent scores (GRE is valid for 5 years, TOEFL is valid for 2 years) and are to be reported to the Molecular Medicine PhD Program. Select the institutional code, 2602, for Case Western Reserve University - Molecular Medicine PhD. Department codes are not necessary.
Letters of Reference:
On your application, please enter a valid email address for three references. Once you submit your application, your references will be notified directly via email, and asked to submit a recommendation letter online. You will not be able to view the reference letter, but will be able to check the status of the letter submission by logging into Case Western Reserve University's application website.
Student Application Directions:
The student application for the Molecular Medicine Ph.D. Program is an on-line process through Case Western Reserve University School of Graduate Studies. This Apply On-line link will take you to the central on-line application form. Please follow these directions to register.
- Select "Create Your Account" - complete and submit data form
- Select "General Instructions"
- Select "Go to the Form "
- Select "Online Application for Admission" and login using the account you just created
- Select the entrance term "Fall 2009" (not Summer 2009)
- Select the program Molecular Medicine "PHD" link
You will then be directed to complete the on-line application.
- Read and follow all directions carefully and complete all applicable and required fields in the application.
- You will not be able to advance in the application process without completing required fields.
- You will be able to save and return to your application in the CollegeNet system without payment. Save one page at a time, there are a total of 5 pages, page 4 is blank.
- Your short answer and essay answers are a critical component of the application selection process. To complete the text boxes, we recommend that you use a word processsor with spell check and then cut and paste your text into the appropriate box.
- Following completion of the application, you will be asked to submit an on-line application fee.
