  • National Institutes of Health - UL1-RR024989 - CTSA Pilot Grant. Insulin Resistance: Detection of Hepatocellular Lipid Sub-Species by MR Spectroscopy. This grant will develop and validate a new methodology to measure saturated and unsaturated lipid in the liver of patients with hepatic steatosis, using non-invasive NMR spectroscopy.
  • The ScottCare Corp. Effects of external counterpulsation (ECP) on peripheral blood flow and type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study will examine the effects of a 7-week ECP treatment on lower extremity blood flow and glucose metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes.
  • National Institutes of Health - U54CA116867 - PILOT GRANT (PI: Thompson) Retinol Binding Protein-4 (RBP4): A Novel Biomarker for Colon Neoplasia. This is a pilot study to generate preliminary data aimed at determining genetic profiles that predict obesity-related cancers.
