A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to study liver organogenesis, physiology and pathology in the Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. We use zebrafish as a model and focus on human digestive disease modeling. Research projects involve genetic, biochemical and bioinformatic approaches utilizing the zebrafish model and human biospecimens (http://www.lerner.ccf.org/stemcellbio/sakaguchi/).
We are seeking highly motivated recent graduates with a PhD and/or MD with relevant research experience. Applicants should have research experience in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have experience in developmental genetics. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

The research goal is to understand the anatomical and functional organization of hippocampal neural circuits that underlie human mental behavior, with a hope that the outcomes of our research will lead to the development of new therapeutic approaches to prevent, treat, and cure neuropsychiatric disorders. A successful candidate will focus on understanding neuronal connectivity and function of hippocampal neural circuits in normal and diseased brains by using viral and genetic reagents in rodent models.
Our lab is seeking highly motivated, independent, and creative individuals with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with laboratory expertise in neuroscience, genetics or related fields. Extensive experience in animal experiments is strongly recommended. Candidates are expected to lead a project, contribute to establish a collaborative research environment and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
