CAR T-cell therapies have transformed the treatment of several blood cancers, but they do not work for every patient, durable benefit remains limited, and effective cell therapies are not yet available for most cancers. The mission of CTIP is to understand and overcome these limitations by translating mechanistic and patient-centered research into next-generation cell therapies. We study patient samples to define biomarkers and biological mechanisms of response, relapse and toxicity, and we use those insights to engineer safer, more effective and more affordable treatments. Through a continuous cycle of laboratory discovery, clinical evaluation and therapeutic refinement, our goal is to extend the benefits of cell therapy to more patients with cancer and, in the future, other immune-related diseases.
